Time to fly

Living your design means being honest.

Differentiated means unravelling the truth of the form - the truth of authority when free from shackles.

I was struck by this sculpture today bearing the same title as the blog - time to fly by artist Ilona Herreiner.

A girl or a childlike woman is half-bird and half-human with the lower part of her body exposed awkwardly, disturbingly.

The bird part appears to weigh on the child’s shoulders. A paradox. New and old information converged in a sea of memories for me, opening new vistas.

Unresolved shadows rooted in shame, rooted in confusion, and mixed with curiosity and wonder - all of which characterize the pathless land that children tend to inhabit.

Such is the power of art viewed with serendipity.

The sculpture also struck a chord with a theme that's close to my heart on the path of human design. Is this hybrid creature an empowered or a disempowered archetype?

We can finally fly as ourselves, but mostly we are weighed down by something old that’s stronger. What is that ‘thing’, is for each of us to unravel.

It can be rooted in the open centres, or it can hide in the inner authority definition chained to stubborn conditioning with memories.

Diving into the process of differentiation, we start experiencing the layers of notself resistance, which while unseen can control authority.

It takes a tremendous amount of courage to communicate your honest stance.

Truth brings exposure, sometimes before we feel ready to be exposed, and having to deal with what we’re yet to see for ourselves.

Are you ready to be exposed for who you are?
